This practice mute reduces the volume by 25 dB, which is a lot. You can play at home or in a hotel at any hour of the day without disturbing anybody. In addition, you can use the mute to practise your fortissimo with an open throat. The mute is not too heavy and stays in place in the bell. All tones are playable and the intonation does not change.
